For some reason it took me the longest time to grasp the concept of feeds, aggregators and so on Rolling Eyes
Your blog host converts your posts to a common format, either RSS or Atom, that aggregators such as Bloglines searches for. Subscribers to the aggregator can select which blogs they want to track and will aggregate the chosen blogs so you can read them in one place. You can install a notifier so you get alerted when a blog has been updated.
