Managing a RingSurf RingProspective members will initiate the joining process by clicking on the join link of the navigation code in the main website, or another member's website, or by going to www.ringsurf.com and finding the ring by searching.
They will fill out the joining form and submit it. On the confirmation page there will be the navigation code that the joiner must add to their blog before they can be officially joined to the ring.
This code is unique for each member so members can't copy each other's code because it will break the ring.
This action will trigger an email to the ring owner to let them know someone is waiting to join.
To manage the ring the ring owner logs in using the first sign on option after clicking on the log in link at the top right hand corner.
The most used functons will be view/check queue and view/check members.
New members will be in the queue and must be moved onto the members list to activate their membership
To do this click on view/check queue. There will be a list of members waiting to be activated. Before moving them to the members list, you should click on the check button to ensure they ahve added the code correctly to their blog. If that comes back OK then click on the move button.
This action will trigger an email to the member to let them know their membership has been activated.
Now and again it is a good idea to recheck members in the members list to make sure that their blog is still active and they haven't deleted the ring code. That is one thing you can do from the check/view members link. If this happens then the member should be moved back to the queue, so as not to break the ring, using the button by each member.
