Adding images to blogger

I just saw a neat line-up of bookcovers on a blogger blog that I wan to re-create on a Book Blog Tour blog I set up. The owner, alas, can't remember how it was done. Here's the site I want to emulate:

http://storieshappen.blogspot.com/

See the section that says "Real Good Stories"? I want that set-up at http://blogbooktours.blogspot.com .... all the book covers of titles I've hosted. I'm not good at html stuff.... <frown>.

I'm also having problems with a couple of other blogs. My ongoing comment link button is still an issue at:

http://www.sockqueen.blogspot.com

And on more than one blog, I can't seem to get a permalink button at the bottom of each post.

So the final question...... should I give up on blogger and just get a typepad account?? LOL.

So thanks, Jacquie.... I wish I'd had more time to play here... to keep up my blogs, too. But, well...........you know how that goes.

Do you know if the site you want to copy is an Amazon Affiliate? If so then the links will have been created from their Amazon account.

If you decide to become an Amazon affiliate (so you get paid if someone buys the book through your link) I have found this free software that you can download that will create affiliate links for you given your Affiliate id and the ISBN of the book.

If you decided to use Typepad it has a facility to set up Amazon links, but unless you are an Amazon Affiliate Typepad gets the commission from them.

I use Typepad, and I do like it, but unless you pay for the higher levels you don't have much control over your template's look and feel. The other main advantage for me is that you can create other web pages and upload any kind of file to link to.

I did look at your comment problem but I just couldn't see what was wrong at all. The best I can suggest there is to create another blog and copy everything from your old template into it. Reset your original template to its original working form and then copy one thing back at a time checking each time that the comments still work until either it stops working and you discover which thing upset it, or you get everything back in and it still works. This method should help you find your permalink problem too.

Thanks, Jacquie.... I bet you're right on the amazon affiliate thing. I didn't think of that, and since I have good reason to be an affiliate, I might just go ahead and do that. I have several book-related squidoo lenses and I've been told it's much more advantageous to be an affiliate with amazon and with CafePress, rather than use the squidoo widgets for both.

As to the comment key at Queen of Socks, I actually did rebuild the blog using another template and when I got all done, I STILL didn't have a comment button. Blech. I guess deep down inside, I don't want comments about my knitting?? Wink

I had another look at your page source and the HTML does seem to get confused around the bottom of the posts showing the wrong styles for the time stamp, backlinks and comments. The only way I could really work on it to see what is happening is if I recreate your exact template and page elements and see if I can see where it goes wrong and I am intrigued enough to want to spend the time doing that - so wish me luck and I'll be back later.
