July's theme is Independence, mainly because July 4th is Independence Day in the USA. But what does Independence mean to you?

Although I am not an American citizen I have lived in the USA for eight years and want to be here permanently. I agree with what you say about patriotism. I wish Americans were encouraged to look at the world as a whole - whenever I see a "God Bless America" sticker it makes me think "What about everyone else?"
